2023 20th Annual Patrick Elbert Memorial Golf Tournament
Thank you to all who joined us this year! We had a great turn out and lots of fun this year. 10 teams came out and played a scramble style tournament. We announced winners and drew names for the raffle prizes after a great lunch provided by Bert’s Chuckwagon this year! Thank you to Chuck at the Bayou Golf course for hosting our group. Join us next year for a fun day at the course!
Newberg Manufacturers' Blood Drive
On May 24th ARE hosted a blood drive with partner with DCI and Fernwood Grange. It turned out to be a great success. We were able to fill all of the appointments, had all but 2 show up. In total we were able to collect 31 donations! Of those, 16 were ARE employees, Thank you to everyone who participated! These donations could save up to 93 lives. It was a great showing of community support. Watch for information about our next drive. Thank you to Red Cross for allowing us to host.
A.R.E. receives 2022 Community Applause Award from Oregon Bankers Association
In December, the Oregon Bankers Association recognized ARE as the 2022 Community Applause Award winner. The award is given each year to an Oregon business that gives back via significant service and contributions to their community. ARE was nominated by Amanda Bowlby, Newberg branch manager at First Federal. In Amanda’s words, “I believe ARE has built a truly unique experience for high school students. Tiger Manufacturing allows students to develop solid career-ready skills and the ambition to drive their own future, while also providing services to our local businesses. It is an inspiring program that matches First Federal’s desire to be a good steward within our community. It has been an honor to work with Alvin for many years. His efforts continue to inspire me and many others.” Thank you to First Federal and Oregon Bankers Association for recognizing the work we are doing!
A.R.E. Manufacturing Named Youth Employer of the Year by NAWDP a national organization
We were nominated for this national award by Willamette Workforce Partnership who we have been involved with for many years. NAWDP held a 4 day youth development symposium in North Carolina. They invited Alvin out to accept his award in person. on Thursday Nov 17th Alvin accepted an award for Youth Employer of the Year 2022. We would like to say Thank you for the honor! A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc. is committed to giving youth in our community the opportunity to explore the machining industry.
A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc. Receives a Grant to Invest in Training Employees
This month we received a grant from Willamette Workforce Partnership that will allow us to provide valuable training to our employees across all departments. We have been approved to provide our newer and mid level machinist with a course on geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as well as our higher level machinists and programmers an advanced GD&T course that focuses on Quality Assurance and reading blueprints. This will provide our workforce with the skills and knowledge to produce even more complex precision products. Along with that we will be able to provide our programmers with an update on our CAD/CAM software from ESPRIT. We will also be able to round out our knowledge on the admin side by providing our admin team with an HR certification course. This grant will have a great impact on our employees and will allow ARE to retain a competitive edge in our industry. Thank you WWP for your generosity!
A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc's First annual Diaper Drive
This year ARE chose to host a Diaper Drive for a local organization called A Family Place. This organization is doing great work in our community. They provide diapers to families in need for free. They also offer them many other services to support safe and healthy home lives for the families in our community. We set our goal to diaper one child for a whole year or 3650 diapers. In 6 weeks of collecting through cash donations, amazon gifting and our employee’s contributions we were able to donate a total of 3691 diapers total! We reached our goal and then a few more. Thank you to everyone who participated! A special thank you for A Family Place for the great work you do!
